Obama's hateful friends: anti-Israel, anti-gay, pro-Hamas

Obama church published Hamas terror manifesto

Sen. Barack Obama's Chicago church reprinted a manifesto by Hamas that defended terrorism as legitimate resistance, refused to recognize the right of Israel to exist and compared the terror group's official charter - which calls for the murder of Jews - to America's Declaration of Independence.

The Hamas piece was published on the "Pastor's Page" of the Trinity United Church of Christ newsletter reserved for Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr., whose anti-American, anti-Israel remarks landed Obama in hot water, prompting the presidential candidate to deliver a major race speech earlier this week.

In his July 22, 2007, church bulletin, Wright reprinted an article by Mousa Abu Marzook, identified in the newsletter as a "deputy of the political bureau of Hamas." A photo image of the newsletter was captured and posted today by the business blog BizzyBlog. The Hamas piece was first published by the Los Angeles Times, garnering the newspaper much criticism.

Moreover, Obama has put a bill before Congress asking for immense taxpayer funds sent to Africa.

Obama will see through his bill in Congress. It's Global Poverty Act (S 2433) which would shell out of America $845 billion as welfare moneys to third-world countries.

What will this cost each of us?

The tab is a tax more than $2000 on each American breathing. Our nation's budget for foreign this-and-that already comes to $300 billion. But what's the diff? The Act would merely add the additional moneys out to the already elephant-sized total.

Then there is Another 'Close Religious Adviser' to Obama Old Media Has Ignored, Illinois State Sen. James Meeks, who moonlights as the pastor of Chicago's Salem Baptist Church:

It's likely that the Obama-Meeks adviser relationship has not been as close as the candidate’s relationship with Wright, and though I could find no evidence of it, Obama may have spoken out against Meeks's ugly 2006 remarks.

But the news-related issue is why Old Media, first in the case of Jeremiah Wright, and now in the case of "close religious adviser" (and possible Illinois Senate mentor) James Meeks, never looked into their background. After all, neither man is a casual acquaintance, and a Republican or conservative candidate would never get the kind of pass Barack Obama received until the contents of certain of the Rev. Wright's sermons were revealed.

I'm their guy

The Rev. James Meeks is a South Side pastor-turned-politician who is considering a gubernatorial run as an independent candidate. In addition to shepherding the mega Salem Baptist Church, he's also a Democratic state senator and vice president of the Rainbow/PUSH coalition. However, Meeks disagrees with the Jesse Jacksons on lgbt equality and has made blatant overtures to the far right.

The pastor of the state's largest church, Meeks would use an anti-abortion and anti-gay marriage platform and said white evangelical leaders have encouraged him to run. "I've had tremendous response," Meeks said. "We are both very concerned with the direction of Illinois."

Rev. Irene Monroe:

At the Values Voter Summit in Washington last weekend, Obama's campaign announced that they, too, could help conservative voters have a voice in the presidential campaign. They then announced they would be hosting the "Embrace the Change! Gospel Series." It's a gospel fest to run in three South Carolina cities - Charleston, Greenwood and Columbia – this coming weekend with gospel mega-star Pastor Donnie McClurkin as part of the concert line-up.

McClurkin is not the only singer on the gospel tour who has publicly spewed vitriolic statements against LGBTQ people. But he is the biggest one Obama can use to try to win over black evangelical voters.

So once again, Obama is proving that his campaign marketed as "The Audacity of Hope" is really based on the audacity of hypocrisy.
