I remember that when James Pinkerton was hired by Reagan and gave his first interview in his new office in the West Wing. Prominently displayed on the wall above his desk was either a poster or print of John Randolph of Virginia who was mainly known for his opposition to Jacksonian democracy, being pro-slavery(though he manumitted all his slaves after death and paid their way to the North) and a duellist. Pinkerton was roundly criticized for celebrating a racist and was thus typical of this new gang of conservatives that were intent of reviving the ante bellum South.
But if its one of the good guys, especially one so misunderstood, then adulation is OK. But I do notice that neither Che or Obama are looking at the people but rather gazing off into the future or talking with God. Or in Che's case merely pretending not to hear Him.
