Cyd Charisse
Musical star Charisse dies in LA
Here's the BBC video tribute, which states that she took up dancing after a bout of childhood polio. She was a most exceptional dancer, in that she had perfect technique and extraordinary sex appeal.
Here she is in the perfect pas de deux with Fred Astaire, from Silk Stockings:
UPDATE
Betty Jo Tucker's forum is discussing Cyd Charisse.
A friend sent the lyrics to Dancing in the Dark,
Dancing in the dark 'til the tune endsNeoneocon and Obi's sister link.
We're dancing in the dark and it soon ends
We're waltzing in the darkness of why we're here
Time hurries by, we're here and gone.
Looking for the light of a new love
To brighten up the light, I have you, love,
And we can face the music
Dancing in the dark.
What though love is old
What though song is old
Through them we can be young
Hear this heart of mine
Make yours part of mine
Dear one, tell me that we're one
Dancing in the dark 'til the tune ends
We're dancing in the dark and it soon ends
We're waltzing in the darkness of why we're here
Time hurries by, we're here and gone
Looking for the light of a new love
To brighten up the light, I have you, love,
And we can face the music
Dancing in the dark.

She was just beautiful.
I don't like to compare. But I try to find someone today as elegant, as seductively classy as her, and I can't. Thank you for the post. Truly enjoyable. With a bout of nostalgia...
