SPITZER RESIGNING apologizing to his family AS GOVERNOR OF NY

Spitzer Is Linked to Prostitution Ring

Sources: Spitzer to Resign Following Reports of 'Involvement' With Prostitution Ring
New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer is expected to resign from office following news reports that he was linked to a high-profile prostitution ring, sources told FOX News Monday.

Spitzer scheduled an abrupt announcement from his office as news reports were breaking that the governor told staffers about his involvement.

Spitzer, who was especially tough on corporate crime as New York attorney general, told his staff Monday that he was involved in the ring, according to The New York Times' Web site, citing an anonymous administration official. No further details regarding his involvement were immediately available.
More later.

Client #9: I hear a song!

Another thing,
What's with these Democrat wives, standing by the philandering husbands? McGreevey's wife, Spitzer's wife, Hillary; What is wrong with these women??

The Smoking Gun has the daily rates at the Emperor's Club

Ace has more. More, as in this, which shows that for that much money ($4300) she still had to take the train.

UPDATE
Not surprisingly, On Wall Street, they're popping the champagne corks this afternoon. Yup.
Instapundit links to the complaint (pdf).

CNBC just said that the Emperor’s Club VIP offered "models, chaperones and investment advice."
Chaperones?

The word must mean something else. Let's look:
Chaperone: A guide or companion whose purpose is to ensure propriety or restrict activity
Chaperones! Bwahahahahaha!

Digg!

I can think of another Democrat that essentially did the same thing, though didn't get charged, and wish he had resigned.

Hrmph, I can tell you that if my husband ever did such a thing he'd never trust me near a bank of microphones and a bunch of reporters.

I don't understand how any woman (no matter her husband's political affiliation) can "stand by her man" during a press conference like that. I'd be too busy, lots of things on the to do list: meet with a divorce lawyer, hire the movers, cut the crotch out of every pair of pants that he owns and dip all the silverware in the toilet and place it neatly back in the kitchen drawer.

That's a great plan, Janette!

I understand Spitzer's resignation has been postponed to tonight, to give the make-up artist time to hide the bruises his wife left him with as he tried to explain.

Given all of Spitzer's headline-grabbing sanctimony over the last few years, the irony in this is especially enjoyable.

Spitzer will not resign.

He's a Democrat! What he did is pre-requisite for higher office! ;-)

A better theme song, or songs for Gov. Spitzer, would be either Lies by the Knickerbockers(Jersey boys) and Liar, Liar by The Castaways. Both are on Youtube which is beyond my capablity in providing a link.
