The London Times "Golden Era" story reminds me of European sex tourism to the Carribean. Unlike the pedophiles who travel to Thailand, this phenomenon involves women who want to have sex with a man of color. I don't know the extent of this, but I have seen some reports in reputable German news mags. To me, it is all a part of the incredible European condescension toward noble savages.

Any news of Guyana? My son was with the World Teach Org. until he had enough of the locals' hostility and the schools' indifference and left in early January. Now he gets word that they (World Teach) have pulled all their folks from Guyana becuase of rising violence.

I'm passing these on to my son so he can see what "fun" he is missing. At least in Iraq he had his rifle and a humvee with a machine gun mount!
(I think I understand why he purchased a machete while he was in Guyana. And here I thought it was for the walks in the rainforest!)
