Paris rioting, again

The banlieus are in flames, again:
Boys' moped deaths ignite riot in Paris suburb
Rioting broke in one of Paris's tinder box suburban housing estates last night after two young boys were killed when their moped collided with a police car.

Molotov cocktails were thrown, and cars and plastic bins set on fire following the tragedy in Tolinette, a notoriously crime-ridden district of Villiers-le-Bel, some 20 miles north of the centre of the French capital.

One police station was set alight and another, in a neighbouring suburb, was ransacked after youths threw cocktails, and set bins alight and upturned cars.

Officials said seven police and one firefighter had were injured and there were fears the violence, which spread to the neighbouring town of Arnouville-les-Gonesse, could also take hold in other poor, suburban enclaves.

The boys who died were said by locals to be "aged between 12 and 13".

advertisementPolice insisted that their car had not been chasing the boys, and that the officer driving suffered facial injuries in the incident, which happened soon after dusk.
While one rioter asserts that "the rioting ;was not violence but an expression of rage,'", France24 reports that gangs torched cars and looted shops and buildings in the north Paris suburb of Villiers-le-Bel, injuring 25 police officers.
More blogging later.

Update:
The Times (UK) has a slideshow.

In other French news, Consternation as Muammar Gaddafi seeks to pitch his tent on Nicolas Sarkozy’s lawn
Le Point, the French magazine, said that advisers to the 65-year-old Libyan leader had told Paris he wanted a tent because he suffered from a phobia brought on by being confined indoors.
So what to do, then? Try some dhimmitude:
The protocol service is unsure how to respond, since it is unwilling to displease the volatile ruler but unsure about setting a precedent that could lead to similar demands from other heads of state.

It's sad how the French Government can't keep their people in line...
They need a new regime or something.

Having lived in France in the 70s, I recall how civil and polite the country was. Too many lazy non French speaking individuals seek hand outs and demand rights they haven't earned or deserve. It is time to discipline these youth or send them to camps for a reminder of how good they have it. Unfortunately, France, as so many western nations, has become a victim of its liberal immigration policies.

They should have cut this lunacy off long before it started. Weak-minded European countries are not only losing their national identities, they're losing their national security as well. I hope the American southwest takes note of what happens when you allow rampant unchecked immigration. This from a traditionally liberal Kiwi Maori.

As french, i can tell you that our country is very slowwwww in some ways, US got youth camps since years, here maybe in 20 years we will maybe be able to do something, but here too many people won't give their veto to say yes, ok let's give a try, people want to try another things that youth camp, if you do that here, you'll be a racist, if you say that we should put these ppl in psychatric care or in jail, everyone would say that you are and still a racist, whathever if its true or not, these days, you can't do or say anything against these ppl here, because you will be considered like a racist, IT'S NOT VIOLENCE BUT AN EXPRESSION OF RAGE !!?? yeah let me laugh, we say that since the 70s and nothing changed, I think it's time to do something, it's always because they are poor, easy excuse.. Look that great example, 2 boys on a little motorcycle without light and protection were riding very fast in there area, a police car patrol was driving pretty slow, the motorcycle came of front of the police car and killed the 2 boys and the police officers went our their car and call the emergency, but they had to go away from the crash area because a lot of nervous ppl came to fight the police, they will probably killed them if they didn"t leave, i'm sure about that, these ppl are sauvage and can't keep themselves down. And look now, everyone is saying that the police car were chasin them and killed them !! this is ridiculous, 5 ppl have seen exactly what happened from different place, and it's still exactly the same thing, it was an accident, a stupid and sad accident, but that's it !! and now it's not enough, some ppl want the "real" truth and the reponsable, but it's just crap..

Maxence from france
