Gringo's looking at journalistic standards
In short, here's where I see a major issue that is crying out to be addressed: Mexico's journalistic ethics will, at the very least, heavily influence U.S.-based Spanish-language media's ethics. Certainly things like American libel law can and should apply here--it's still a defamatory lie, even if it's said en espaƱol--but SLM will, I submit, emulate Mexican media out of habit and necessity. And if we've got two separate media systems in the same country that speak two separate languages with conflicting ethical standards, I'd say we have a major-league problem on our hands.
Spanish-language radio is even worse. And don't get me started on how awful the radio ads can get.
